Day 2
Before arriving at Jesse's house I decided that I wanted a more stout rear bumper.  I went and picked up a 5' long piece of 2"x3" with a wall thickness of .120.  This size would allow us to fit the section of 2"x3" into the frame rails and make the rear portion of the frame even stronger.

Here Jesse is notching out the area that the 2x3 will slide into.

After some grinding we test fit the tube.  Once it seemed right it was tacked into place....

And then the welder ran out of gas....after a quick run to the welding shop to exchange the tank we were at it again.  In the background you can see the exhaust of the 4Runner hanging down, we had to pull the non-working T-case out.  After pulling the back plate off of the t-case off we spotted the problem, Jesse snapped the main shaft in the case.  This boy needs a NP205!  Not to mention a Dana 60 rear.

After the bumper was welded into place the grinder took over to smooth out the rough areas....Then it was painted flat black.  Here the paint is still drying.

Still need to make some end caps.

Nice clean welds...Thanks Jesse!  Now we just need to re-attatch the rear most portion of the bed.
